The Artist Gianfranco Foschino

2009 project by  Gianfranco Foschino   from Chile

Stillness and movement play in opposition in this video. In a long shot framing and a single take, Foschino’s camera captures an everyday life scene in Chilean country farm. A group of chicken move around the front yard. Then, a lady and a dog enter the frame, and she throws something at the chicken, which disperse immediately and disappear. The lady goes inside the house, and only the dog remains at the center of the yard, playing with the object thrown. Then, little by little, the chickens begin to re-enter the space.
